Fallen Tear: The Ascension

Exactly seven months after a crowdfunding campaign that exceeded all expectations—raising an impressive $135,918 from over 3,000 backers against an initial goal of $30,000—the Philippines-based game development studio Winter Crew has officially revealed the launch window for the PC version of Fallen Tear: The Ascension, their highly anticipated debut title. This announcement comes with the release of a brand-new teaser trailer.

The 30-second trailer not only confirms the game’s availability on PC via Steam in 2025 but also offers a deeper look into the meticulous artistry and world-building that define the game’s unique aesthetic. For those who have already experienced the demo, the trailer provides a glimpse of familiar characters, along with new insights into the protagonist, the young Hira. It also teases one of the game’s most enigmatic and iconic figures, who could be described as the nemesis of our young hero, cloaked in an eerie aura of shadow. To avoid spoilers for those who have yet to play the demo, we’ll refrain from fully unveiling this character at this time.

Accompanying the trailer, the official description reads: “Take a look at the 2025 Teaser Trailer for Fallen Tear: The Ascension, an upcoming action Metroidvania platformer developed by Winter Crew Studios. Players will explore a vibrant world to uncover Fated Bonds, battling and liberating beasts or gods along the way. Overcome challenges, discover hidden paths, and unlock secrets in a world that responds to the player’s actions.”

Now, the question on everyone’s mind: when will Fallen Tear: The Ascension be available? As stated, the game is scheduled for release in the first quarter of next year on PC via Steam. While the release dates for console versions are yet to be confirmed, it has been officially announced that the game will also be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
