Yesterday, January 31, 2024, the highly anticipated State of Play took place at 2:00 pm (PT) and 5:00 pm (ET)! Forty minutes of show to show all the great releases of this intense 2024 in the name of gaming fun. So, sit back and enjoy the list!
Dave the Diver
Dave the Diver is a casual single-player RPG and adventure game that lets you explore the deep sea by day and run a sushi bar by night. Join Dave and his wacky friends as they try to unlock the secrets of the mysterious Deep Blue.
After the launch on PC and Nintendo Switch, Dave the Diver will also arrive on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in April.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
The new and spectacular footage of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be the next chapter in Hideo Kojima’s post-apocalyptic odyssey. The new highly anticipated adventure of Sam and Fragile traveling to reconnect the devastated world of Death Stranding will restart in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom. We play as a hero marked by a dragon that we will have to defeat. All while we explore the world we are in, we will undertake missions and fight monsters.
And if that’s not enough, we will get caught up in a geopolitical conflict between two kingdoms. Sequel to Dragon’s Dogma (2012), the game is scheduled for release for PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/S on March 22, 2024.
Foamstars
Foamstars, the new 4v4 team shooter for PS5 and PS4.
Use foam to build terrain and create slippery surfaces to move across at full speed. Defend yourself from attacks or create advantageous positions from which to destroy your opponents.
Choose from three game modes: Hit the Star, Bubble Bath Survival and Rubber Duck Party. Foamstars is out February 6, 2024.
Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is a third-person cooperative shooter. The elite Helldiver forces fight to win an intergalactic struggle and rid the galaxy of growing alien threats. We will use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill enemy forces. The element of gore and blood reigns supreme in the fight scenes; with blood spatters and dismemberments.
Helldivers 2 is coming February 8, 2024 on PC and PS5. Pre-orders are already available!
Judas
This title will make us live a sci-fi experience through the deeds performed by Judas, the protagonist. Judas will summon all her courage to escape from a huge spaceship about to be destroyed. During the adventure we will be able to acquire numerous special abilities.
From the story trailer for Judas it can be seen that the title is currently in development on PlayStation 5 (as well as on PC and Xbox Series). However, no further clarifications are provided on the release timing.
Legendary Tales
Legendary Tales is a VR action role-playing game with co-op for up to 4 players. Collect items and improve your skills. Make your way through an ever-evolving dungeon to create your own legendary tales.
The game is due out on February 8, 2024 for PS VR 2 and Steam.
Metro Awakening
Metro Awakening is a narrative-driven, first-person adventure designed for VR, blending exploration and atmosphere, stealth and combat into an immersive Metro experience.
Don your gas mask, brave the radiation and venture into the menacing depths of Metro. A release date has not yet been provided, but it is possible to wishlist Metro Awakening on Steam.
Rise of the Rōnin
Rise of the Rōnin is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Combat features a wide range of weapons common during the Boshin War, such as katanas and various Boshin War firearms.
The game features story choices at key moments, allowing players to take sides or fight against various NPCs, influencing the story.
The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5 on March 22, 2024.
Silent Hill: The Short Message
Konami surprisingly showed Silent Hill: The Short Message for PS5. It is a completely free game, which you can download immediately from the PS Store.
With a distressing atmosphere, the right amount of terror and beautiful graphics, the game awaits you!
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2 returned to the State of Play 2024, showing itself more closely in its remake by Bloober Studio! The new trailer shows us “classic” sequences from Silent Hill 2 with new graphics. This includes the total remodeling of characters and settings, as well as various creatures.
A release date for the game has not yet been announced, we only know that it is in development for PS5.
Sonic X Shadow Generations
Sonic x Shadow Generations offers a mix between “classic” and modern. There is talk of a remastered version of Sonic Generations. Having, therefore, glittering 2D and 3D levels, an increased resolution and other additions that will make them closer to contemporary tastes. The novelty is a “new campaign“, starring Shadow the Hedgehog and his new and incredible abilities.
The game will be released during 2024 not only on PS5! It is also in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Xbox Series. The PC version will be available for purchase via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Stellar Blade
Stellar Blade is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Shift Up and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5 on April 26, 2024.
Until Dawn
Until Dawn will return in 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PC in an improved and up-to-date version. This is thanks to Unreal Engine 5, which will push the goodness of the graphics and environments while also allowing for a new color palette to achieve a horror experience that is ever closer to the cinema. The original characters have also been enriched with new animations.
The audio sector has instead been embellished with a new soundtrack composed by Mark Korven and new non-original music.
The gameplay will have a new third-person view that will allow you to live the original experience. We will also explore new locations with all-new interactions and collectibles. The story has also been reworked: while remaining faithful to the original, the guys at Ballistic Moon took the opportunity to delve deeper into some aspects and narrative implications.
V Rising
The game was announced for PS5 during the State of Play, it will be available on Sony consoles during 2024, but at the moment there is no more precise release date. V Rising is a survival game populated by vampires and we will be part of them.
To regain strength and powers and rebuild the castle in which to live,we will have to gain followers and face increasingly stronger enemies. We will also compete with other players from all over the world.
Zenless Zone Zero
It is an action-RPG with gacha elements by MiHoYo within HoyoVerse. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic universe interpreted in a particular way. With a very colorful and particular scenario.
The cast of characters also includes anthropomorphic animals. It was officially announced for PS5, with a presentation trailer during the State of Play 2024 held on January 31st.
Physint
What will happen after Death Stranding 2? Kojima has already given us a clear answer. A new partnership is on the way between Hideo Kojima and Sony for the development of an interesting new IP which, according to the author himself, will combine video games and cinema and will represent the culmination of his career.
It is an action and espionage video game, development of which will begin immediately upon completion of work on Death Stranding 2.
