Further details to be revealed during the Nintendo Direct event on April 2.

Nintendo Switch 2 – First-look trailer

After months of anticipation and without any prior notice or announcement, Nintendo has finally revealed the Nintendo Switch 2, the upcoming hybrid console set to launch in 2025. The reveal was a brief yet captivating first-look that showcased the design of the new system, while keeping key details like the retail price and official release date tightly under wraps.

Although the reveal was brief, it provided an intriguing glimpse into the new aesthetics of Nintendo’s next-gen console: larger, slightly curved Joy-Con controllers, magnetic attachments, redesigned buttons, and a generally larger form factor.

Additionally, Nintendo confirmed that the Switch 2 will not only support exclusive games for the new system, but also fully support both physical and digital titles from the original Nintendo Switch, with some exceptions for games that may not be compatible or fully supported on the new console.

For now, this is all the information available, but it’s highly probable that new developments will surface in the coming weeks, possibly even ahead of the eagerly awaited Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, April 2—an ideal opportunity for Nintendo to provide more details about its much-anticipated console and announce the official release date.
