Resident Evil: Death Island is the new CGI movie of the Resident evil saga, and it will be released on July 7, 2023. The movie, based on Capcom characters, will be published exclusively in Japanese theaters by Kadokawa Pictures.
People are already counting on its success because we can see its characters sharing the same screen and facing a new virus, developed by the same villain as Resident Evil: Vendetta (2017).
And now they’ve all gathered on Death Island. Leon Kennedy, Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Rebecca Chambers. All assembled on Alcatraz Island to prevent a mass murderer.
The trailer has already received 1 million views in less than 24 hours, and pre-sales for Japanese theaters are already open, with free samples and posters for those who purchase a ticket.
From their bios and Twitter accounts, some details regarding characters and timelines are already out. Death Island is the sequel to Vendetta and will take place after the sixth chapter of the video game series, with a non-aged Jill and and hints that may lead to Resident Evil 9.
The synopsis revolves around agent Leon Kennedy, who is on a mission to save the famous Dr. Taylor; meanwhile, BSAA soldier Chris is in San Francisco trying to solve the riddle of a new apocalypse. Both are hoping to find the virus on Alcatraz Island after identifying a link between the victims and the prison of Alcatraz, thanks to Rebecca and Claire’s assistance.
