After a post announcing the postponement of the Realm of Ink 1.0 version to March 2025, the game seems to have disappeared from the STEAM platform.
This morning, Realm of Ink disappeared from STEAM without a trace. The only certain news is a post from the developers on X where they say that the game has been removed from STEAM. Unfortunately Leap Studio doesn’t seem to be aware of the reason either and is waiting to hear from the platform.
This event is very strange, given the solidity of the title and the continuous support given by the developers.
Since Realm of Ink came out in early access, it has amazed us with its gameplay mechanics. Despite the need to resolve some balance issues, the game has proven to have a solid foundation.
Leap Studio has never stopped updating the game and listening to user feedback. The early access already had much more content than the very first version tested. Not to mention the cleaning work done on a gameplay level.
Let’s try to retrace the last stages of the game until the news of the removal.
The “Letter” to the Players
On December 27, 2024, 663 Games and Leap Studio addressed Realm of Ink players with an open letter. In addition to thanking the community for their support and feedback, they announced the release of version 1.0 in March instead of January. The choice, made reluctantly, aims to demonstrate to players the desire to bring a finished product, with interesting mechanics and clean gameplay.
The letter also contained the original Road Map and the one then changed for March ’25.
The December Updates
Despite the postponement to March, Realm of Ink has had numerous patches and updates. The one in December was the most substantial.
Let’s see the improvements made.
Added 3 new Ink Gems: Guardian Ink, Pisces Ink and Kylin Ink.
Guardian Ink summons a special pet that activates effects when enemies are defeated.
Pisces Ink gives the ability to cause damage over time.
Kylin Ink increases the quality of dropped Perks, and their management.
Each of the 9 characters has received improvements and new abilities. New unique moves for each weapon that allow for multiple approaches to gameplay.
Still improving gameplay, we have 21 new perks.
10 Rares, 7 Epics, and 4 Legendaries.
25 legendary Elixirs.
Each Ink Gem power has its own unique Legendary Elixir. Consuming it will significantly improve the Ink Gem build. This leads the game to a huge build development.
Obviously the aesthetic updates cannot be missing. Just for Christmas we have themed outfits for our characters and our pets.
We just have to wait for further updates regarding the removal from STEAM. In the hope that everything will work out for the best, I can say that expectations are high and I am confident in a good game.
