Mishura Games announced the Kickstarter campaign for IMMӨRTAL. A rogue-like character-action game that will land on consoles and PC.

We have already covered IMMӨRTAL: AND THE DEATH THAT FOLLOWS in two different articles. Mishura Games’ work caught our attention both for its gameplay and its intriguing aesthetics. The developers have recently announced the opening of the kickstarter page and a demo scheduled for Q1 2025.

From the few elements analyzed we got some ideas on the mechanics of the game. 

Let’s compare our insights with the developers’ official statements. So as to have a clearer picture of the situation.

IMMӨRTAL Game Mechanic

The developers themselves define the game as a Kungfu-Noir prison drama based on the Buddhist religion.

Our adventure begins in the Titan Realm: a brutal interdimensional prison. In this place we will meet Fudo the Destroyer, condemned for eternity for killing Buddha the Creator (a tyrannical entity). By forming a dangerous alliance with Fudo, we will have to devise a plan to escape from that brutal place.

To escape we must form alliances with our cellmates and even with our adversaries. It will be up to us to decide their fate in order to maintain or break the balance between Creator and Destroyer. This strategically leads us to choose whether to face an opponent or avoid him. Also by finding alternative and secret passages inside the prisons.

We definitely need to create a team to escape from that place.

What affects our fighting style are the prayers of human beings. As demigods we can gather skills and advantages by answering their prayers. Be careful because having an advantage can prove to be a double-edged sword because it will also bring penalties.

The Numbers of IMMӨRTAL

Mishura Games, in addition to having explained the main mechanics, also gives the numbers of the game.

Moving between the cell blocks and choosing whether to face or spare those in front of us is fundamental. For this reason we have 25 blocks to explore and tackle tactically.

In making alliances we have 16 Asura Gang Lords to manage. These can become both our great resource and become our worst enemies.

The Fudo Wisdom King’s complete arsenal consists of over 60 skills. These will influence platforming, deciding on the fate of opponents and the discovery of secret places.

Answering human prayers will lead us to choose between 40 Boons.

These will be used to customize the move list and fighting style. At the same time, no matter how many gifts we take, we will receive as many disadvantages in the form of Banes.
