Can you feel the Kingdom Hearts vibes?

Are you perhaps in search of a vibrant new adventure set in a fantasy world, brimming with breathtaking landscapes, magical realms to uncover, and hand-drawn cute foes, all to be experienced by the side of your trusted sword?

Well, if the answer is yes, you’re in the right place, or rather, the right game. That’s why you should definitely keep an eye on Duskfade, the captivating new video game developed by Weird Beluga Studio, a two-person Spanish indie game studio based in Madrid, founded by Tomás Manzano and Alejandro García.

Since 2019, Manzano and García have been active in the gaming industry, driven by a simple and straightforward philosophy that underpins each of their creations: “To make great games that players can enjoy in all aspects.” Following their debut in 2019 with Clid The Snail, a charming top-down shooter featuring an anthropomorphic snail protagonist—a project that received positive reception from players and mixed reviews from critics—the studio is now hard at work on a new video game, dare we say significantly more ambitious than their previous production.

We’re talking about Duskfade, a captivating video game—without going into specifics, as the developers have yet to assign a specific genre to the game—set in a charming Kingdom Hearts-inspired fantasy world inhabited by these adorable yet shadowy ink-like creatures that, apparently, we’ll have to defeat—let’s say “have to” because we wouldn’t want to; just look at them, they’re so cute. Alright, enough with the mushiness, let’s carry on!

The game was recently announced through a teaser on Weird Beluga Studio’s YouTube channel, providing a closer look at the stunning landscapes that will shape the game, the rich color palette, and some of the main gameplay mechanics, including a first glimpse at the combat system and platforming elements.

At the end of the teaser trailer, we also learn that the developers will soon kick off a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, which, as we know, will be a crucial step for the future of the project. For further information, we’ll simply have to wait for Weird Beluga Studio to drop the campaign link.

Currently, no additional information is available, nor is there a Steam page for Duskfade. As for the release date, everything hinges on the outcome of the Kickstarter campaign. Regarding supported platforms, the developers have expressed their intention to launch the game on both PC and consoles.

So, if you’re interested in the game and are considering adding it to your wishlist in the future, be sure to stay tuned with us and visit Duskfade’s X page for the latest updates and announcements.

That’s all for today. Best of luck to Weird Beluga Studio in the development of the project!
