The game is set to launch on PC, PS5, PS VR2, and SteamVR in 2025.

During the September 2024 State of Play, Swedish publisher Fast Travel Games, in collaboration with indie studio MoonHood Studios—founded by Klaus Lyngeled and Olov Redmalm, the visionary creators behind Lost in Random and Fe—officially announced The Midnight Walk, a stop-motion dark fantasy first-person adventure, crafted entirely from clay. The game is planned for a Spring 2025 release on PlayStation 5 with full PlayStation VR 2 support, as well as on PC via Steam, featuring full virtual reality integration.

The Midnight Walk will mark MoonHood Studios’ debut title, the first bold venture for Lyngeled and Redmalm since their departure from Zoink Games to embark on this new creative odyssey. This project promises to uphold the signature style and captivating charm for which their previous works are renowned, now with a distinctly darker, horror-infused atmosphere. The entire game world has been painstakingly sculpted by hand from clay, then scanned in breathtaking 3D to capture an extraordinary level of detail.

As with Lost in Random and Fe, Klaus and Olov once again lead the artistic direction and overall development of this ambitious project. Olov will also take the reins of the script and narrative design, with the hope of replicating the outstanding work achieved in his previous creations at Zoink Games. Furthermore, the game will see the return of the esteemed composer Joel Bille, whose illustrious portfolio includes the scores for Wavetale, Fe, Ghost Giant, and Stick it to the Man, now lending his talents to The Midnight Walk. A preview of his composition can be heard in the game’s reveal trailer, featuring the haunting track Gräns.

Here’s an overview of the game, which you can also find on the game’s Steam page:
