SWORN, the new action rogue-like developed by Windwalk Games and published by Team17 Digital, is now officially available in Early Access on Steam.
SWORN is inspired by Arthurian mythology where players must master powerful weapons, unique abilities, and receive help from legendary allies like Merlin to stand a chance against King Arthur and his corrupted knights.
An Epic Challenge to Face Alone or with Friends
SWORN offers players the option to fight solo or in co-op mode with up to 4 players. You can choose from four distinct heroes: Vigilante, Rook, Spectre, and Monk. Each hero comes with unique skills, allowing players to mix and match strategies and powers in creative ways to tackle Camelot’s ever-shifting battles. Thus, no two encounters will feel the same, ensuring that each playthrough remains fresh and engaging.
A Dark and Fascinating Avalon
The setting of SWORN, while inspired by Arthurian legends, presents a darker fantasy aesthetic, heavily influenced by Mike Mignola, the renowned artist behind Hellboy. In addition, players will encounter familiar figures from myth and legend, both as valuable allies and as formidable foes. This blend of the familiar and the unknown makes for a world that is as captivating as it is dangerous.
The Power of the Fae
To defeat the darkness, players can swear loyalty to the Lords of the Fae. This grants access to over 200 unique blessings. Each Fae offers different powers. King Oberon enhances fury and creates devastating whirlwinds. Banshee Cliona provides soul missiles to strike enemies from a distance. Players can combine blessings with character abilities and weapons. This allows for unique builds and endless gameplay experimentation.
A Journey to Become a Champion
Through the Beacon of Avalore, players can upgrade their character over time, becoming stronger and ready to face increasingly difficult challenges. However, for those who feel ready to challenge King Arthur right away, SWORN offers a demanding experience that will test even the most skilled players.
A Future on Consoles
While the game is now available on Steam in Early Access, the developers have confirmed that SWORN will also be coming to consoles with the launch of its 1.0 version.
