Here we are. The game development studio, Subcult Joint LTD, and the publisher, Rogue Games, have officially revealed the release date for Cookie Cutter. And it’s surprisingly sooner than we could have ever expected…
The news was in the air for several days now, especially considering the communication tactics on X that the Subcult Joint LTD team was using to unveil the release date of Cookie Cutter. However, truth be told, we never expected this moment to arrive this soon.
Yet, the irreverent and hyper-violent Metroidvania developed by Subcult Joint LTD and published by Rogue Games is officially gearing up for its debut on December 14, 2023, on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Both developers and publishers shared the announcement on their social media profiles, along with a brand-new release date trailer.
Beyond that, the trailer provides a first look at engineer Shinji Fallon, Cherry’s significant other, and offers additional valuable in-game footage highlighting Cookie Cutter in action. In its early moments, the trailer shifts its focus to the story from a unique angle, delving into Shinji’s character and the relationship that unfolds with Cherry, underscoring that it was Cherry who brought Shinji to life, not the other way around.
At the moment, an official release date for Cookie Cutter on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One has not been confirmed. However, it’s not unlikely that there could be significant updates in the future, possibly with the arrival of 2024.
