Still No Official Release Date, Though…

For months, Blight: Survival had been shrouded in a long, unusual silence – so profound at times it felt almost deafening. As the weeks stretched on, that silence began to weigh heavily on fans’ expectations, turning anticipation into a mix of questions, doubts, and restless curiosity. Yet beneath this uncertainty, the hope sparked by the game’s earliest reveals never truly faded.
From the very first glimpse, it was clear that this was a project with genuine potential – a vision capable of capturing players’ imaginations and leaving a lasting mark. Even during the prolonged silence, fans clung to the belief that the game was still alive, that its promise had not been eroded by time or stifled by months of absence. When a concept resonates so powerfully with a community, silence does not soothe – it heightens curiosity, fuels speculation, and, inevitably, sparks concern.
Those lingering doubts can finally be laid to rest. The developers and publisher chose the perfect moment to break the silence with a clear and substantial update on the project’s progress – an announcement both long-awaited and, in many ways, essential. It provided clarity, transparency, and reassurance to a community that had been left uncertain for far too long.
The update was unveiled during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2026, the stage chosen by Haenir Studio and Behaviour Interactive to bring Blight: Survival back into the spotlight. The presentation featured a comprehensive deep dive: the first segment provided an in-depth look at the progress made over recent months, while the second highlighted the people driving the project – those dedicating their expertise, passion, and daily commitment to bringing the game to life.
The message is unmistakable: Blight: Survival is not just alive – it is thriving. The project is undergoing a significant evolution, guided by a more clearly defined artistic vision and a thoroughly upgraded technical and visual presentation that sets it apart from its earliest appearances.
With that, it’s time to take a closer look at the new trailer unveiled during the showcase and hear directly from the developers about the progress they’ve made in bringing this ambitious project to life.
Everything Revealed in the New Trailer
The trailer released by Haenir Studio and Behaviour Interactive, titled “Thank You”, opens with a first half that closely follows the kind of promotional material the developers have shared over the years – long before the partnership with the Canadian publisher was established. On-screen, brutal encounters with hordes of undead infected unfold, marked by raw violence and rivers of blood, culminating in finishing moves of strikingly savage intensity.
At this stage of development, these sequences demonstrate a remarkable maturity both aesthetically and technically: animations are precise and deliberate, environmental details are meticulously crafted, and the overall visual presentation reinforces the grim, unforgiving atmosphere that defines the world of Blight: Survival.
However, it is in the second half of the trailer that the video truly deepens, evolving from a visceral showcase into a revealing window on the game’s creative process. Here, the focus turns from the game itself to the people behind it, offering a glimpse into the creative process shaping the project and the progress made over the past months. Taking the stage are Ulrik Langvandsbråten, Creative Director at Haenir, and Ash Pannell, Senior Creative Director at Behaviour Interactive, who outline some of the most important developments in the game’s ongoing evolution.

“Hi everyone, Ulrik here, Creative Director of Blight: Survival. First off, on behalf of myself, Mads, Ash, and the entire team, thank you. Reaching 1.5 million wishlists is an incredible milestone, and we’re deeply grateful for your support. We’re taking the time to make sure it pays off when the moment comes to put Blight in your hands. When we teamed up with Behaviour, we spent a lot of time digging into the original vision for Blight”, Langvandsbråten explains, shedding light on one of the project’s most consequential development choices. “It quickly became clear that if we wanted to truly do it justice, we needed to take a step back and rebuild our core systems from the ground up.”
Following Ulrik’s remarks, Ash Pannell takes the stage to provide a more comprehensive insight into the design philosophy shaping Blight: Survival and the experience the combat system is crafted to deliver. “We’re designing Blight: Survival to be a brutal and deeply visceral experience. Combat is meant to be felt from the first clash to the final deadly blow”, explains the Senior Creative Director at Behaviour Interactive.
Pannell goes on to emphasize that the striking finishing moves showcased in the trailer are merely one part of a far more intricate and layered combat system. “These finishers are just one part of our immersive combat system that we can’t wait to show you in the future.” He also hints at the next steps in development and the growing involvement of the community. “We’ve started ramping up on small scale playtests. So, for anyone who’s interested in shaping the future of Blight, join us on Discord”
He closes with a heartfelt note of appreciation for the community that has supported the project from the very beginning: “Thank you from everyone here at the team of Blight and we can’t wait to see you soon”.
These closing remarks also reveal one of the trailer’s most significant updates. As confirmed on the game’s Steam page, Blight: Survival will host its first public playtest in 2026, offering players an early opportunity to experience the game firsthand. Interested participants can register via the dedicated playtest section on Behaviour Interactive’s official website.
The trailer concludes with a brief yet strikingly atmospheric sequence that perfectly captures the grim tone of the project. Two armored knights cautiously approach the edge of a pitch-black expanse. After a moment of uneasy hesitation, they slowly draw their swords, preparing to confront whatever may lie hidden beyond the darkness.
From within the void comes a distant, unsettling sound – low, distorted, and almost inhuman – the haunting call of one of the many grotesque aberrations that haunt the ruthless, decaying world of Blight: Survival.

When and on Which Platforms Will Blight: Survival Be Available?
Blight: Survival has not yet received an official release date or confirmed launch window, but it is expected to launch soon on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
