Ari Buktu is a single-player adventure with comedy vibes, created by Adventure Works L.L.C. Founded by a former Disney designer.

Adventure Works L. L. C. is a new development studio founded by veteran former Disney designer Jeffrey Ashbrook. The development house announced Ari Buktu and the Anytime Elevator, a new colorful puzzle-platformer for PC.

The title calls to mind the 80s pop culture. From the images of the trailer we can see references to titles such as Back to the Future and Indiana Jones.

Our Adventure Through Time

In Ari Buktu we play as a student dragged into a reckless treasure hunt through time.

We need to find a tiara, and it won’t be as easy as we think. Professor Raventhorpe, a physics teacher, built an elevator to travel through time. The purpose of the invention is to impress the history teacher by recovering Nefertari’s tiara from the past. When Ari stumbles upon his plan, he will find troubles!

During our adventures we will encounter many obstacles and even enemies interested in the tiara. Like Belzoni, the greatest treasure hunter in history, he wants the tiara.

Features of Ari Buktu

The game looks like a very colorful 2.5D puzzle platformer with a good visual impact. Former Disney designer Jeffrey Ashbrook created all the characters.

Canyons, minecarts, vines to hang on, snowy areas and ancient tombs where you can discover lost artifacts. All by solving mostly physical puzzles, classics of old school platformers.

Ari Buktu unfolds in 13 levels contained in 6 biomes. There will be no shortage of the usual collectibles and secrets hidden throughout the levels. The game promises a 4-hour single player campaign, the only weak point for the moment. I hope for an increase, not too excessive, in the duration of the campaign.

The direction of the videos we saw is interesting, bacause the cutscenes are full of gags and inspired by classic 80s adventure films.

The dubbing is entrusted to Joe Gaudet as Ari Buktu and Ray O’Hare as Professor Raventhorpe!

Ari Buktu seems perfect for fans of classic platformers. Unfortunately there is no release date but you can add it to the wishlist on Steam.

We look forward to further news and updates about the game.

I'm a musician (pianist), a nerd and a longtime manga lover. My gamer life started with a copy of Pitfall (1982) for Atari 2600, and so I grew up hand to hand with this medium until now. Later I started to look for what's behind the final product, its design and what happens behind the scenes of the video game world.
